The designated Wali of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman Hamza, held a meeting today with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Roads, Bridges and Water Drains Authority and A&A Company.
The meeting discussed the resumption of work at the exits of the Mak Nimer Bridge on the Nile Street side from the western side, and the governor explained that work was stopped at the exits for reasons related to the high construction cost compared to the value agreed upon in the contract.
Al-Wali stressed that this project is important in that it works to pass the traffic of cars coming from Bahri through the Mak Nimr Bridge before the traffic signal on University Street, which reduces congestion at the traffic signal.
At the meeting, it was decided to form a committee from all parties to reach an agreement that advances work at the exits of the Mak Nimr Bridge.
