The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources has announced the completion of arrangements to provide irrigation water necessary for the cultivation of 400,000 acres of wheat in the winter season of the Al-Jazeera project for the agricultural season 2022-2023.
Eng. Daou Al-Bayt Abdul Rahman Mansour, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources in charge, Engineer Daou Al-Bayt Abdul Rahman Mansour, confirmed in a statement, according to (SUNA), the rise in water levels in Al-Jazeera and Al-Manaqil canals, and said that it reached 14,500 million cubic meters to complete the irrigation of summer crops.
The minister stressed the importance of the cooperation of the partners of the agricultural process in stopping the encroachments on the irrigation structures and the encroachment on the cultivated areas.
He demanded that the necessary treatments that occurred as a result of the recent torrential rains and floods in Al-Manaqil locality should be carried out to ensure the success of the agricultural season and prevent damage.
He said that adherence to the agricultural cycle will contribute by 50% to addressing irrigation problems, in addition to not infringing on irrigation facilities.
He called for the necessity of activating laws and legislation that clarify the relationship between the farmer and the agricultural inspector to determine the demand for water.
