The Darfur Bar Association described the procedures in the case of the killing of Police Brigadier General Ali Berima at the stage of the Criminal Investigation Prosecution as defective and illegal.
The commission called for solidarity with the accused, Muhammad Adam “Tupac”, Muhammad Al-Fateh, Ahmed Al-Fateh and Muhammad Al-Sharif, as the first trial sessions will begin at nine in the morning tomorrow, Sunday, at the Judicial Sciences Institute, after they were accused in the case of the killing of Police Brigadier General Ali Berima, last January.
The authority said in a press circular received by “Bagh News” that through the follow-up, the authority learned that a criminal case had been filed for alleged incitement against Dr. Zainab Al-Amin and Sulafa and a third accused.
The Secretary-General of the Commission, Sadiq Ali Hassan, said in a statement to (Bagh News): The law was violated by extracting confessions under torture from Tupac and his colleagues, the accusations are fabricated.
He added: I expect that after the first procedural session, if it is held, the defense will submit an appeal against the judicial confession extracted under duress and request that Tupac and his colleagues be referred for medical examination to prove that they were subjected to torture.
Police Brigadier General Ali Barima was killed in January while performing his duty to protect protestors’ convoys today, next to the Istack Factory, south of the presidential palace, according to a press circular about the Presidency of the Police Forces.
The Ministry of Interior said that it had arrested the killer of Brigadier General Ali Brima Hammad.
According to the circular of the police press office in January of this year, “the killer confessed to committing the crime and injuring other police employees, and the rest of the accused are being tracked down and arrested.”
