Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Lieutenant General Shams El-Din Kabbashi, discussed with the Chinese Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Xue Ping, strengthening the solid relations between Sudan and China and ways to support prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries.
In statements after the meeting, Ping said that his visit to Sudan comes within the framework of strengthening and promoting friendly relations between the two countries, and strengthening strategic partnerships between them, pointing to their joint coordination in international forums.
The Chinese Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa described the meeting as constructive and fruitful, touching on the course of bilateral relations and exchanging common visions on regional and international issues.
He added that the Horn of Africa region is of great importance as it enjoys a strategic location that has made it vulnerable to foreign interference, pointing to his country’s rejection of all forms of foreign interference in this region, stressing China’s support for promoting economic integration in the Horn of Africa and settling differences through dialogue.
Ping affirmed his country’s readiness to provide support and assistance to Sudan in the areas of economic and social development.
He pointed out that he briefed the member of the Sovereignty Council on China’s vision on peace and development in the Horn of Africa, explaining that his visit to Sudan comes within the framework of exchanging visions and ideas on establishing peace and security in this region.
