The MoU promotes the exchange of information, documents, studies and methodological materials related to physical education, sports, women’s sports, gender balance and the Olympic movement, and the design and implementation of joint sports programmes.
It also works on organizing joint scientific, professional and academic seminars, workshops and conferences, while approving training certificates related to programs implemented in a participatory manner.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was attended by the General of the General Sports Authority Saeed Abdul Ghaffar Hussein Al-Amin, the Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee Azza bint Suleiman, and signed by the Director of the Sports Leadership Center Omar Abdul Rahman Al Ali, representing the authority, and the Executive Director of the National Olympic Academy. Abdullah Mahioh, Director of the Emirates Sports Arbitration Center stressed the importance of the memorandum of understanding, especially that the center works in cooperation with the General Sports Authority and the National Olympic Academy to qualify and refine sports cadres and enhance their capabilities.
