The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a decision appointing Mr. Hussein Yahya Jangoul Al-Basha as Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.
In May 2019, the former head of the Transitional Military Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a decision appointing Hussein Yahya Jangoul Al-Basha as governor of the Central Bank of Sudan before he submitted his resignation from the position in November of the same year.
In December, the head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, announced the acceptance of the resignation of the head of the Central Bank of Sudan, Hussein Yahya Jangoul, from his position.
Al-Basha graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Khartoum in 1982, and obtained a master’s degree in economics from Columbia University in New York in 2000.
He joined the Central Bank of Sudan in 1982, worked in its various departments and was promoted to the rank of general manager, and was appointed in 2009 as assistant governor.
Hussein Yahya Jangoul Al-Basha was appointed as First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan last year 2018, before a decision was issued appointing him as a replacement for Mohamed Al-Zubair, Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.
